In the eighties, dismantling procedures emerged when Virgin started adding a surcharge of 9% of the net  sale value to dealer invoices. This is the only known case of dismantling decided by a court in Europe. It was started in 1984 and was decided by the Spanish Supreme Court in 1994. Indeed, after ten years of legal struggle SGAE won the legal battle, obtaining clear-cut decisions on dismantling.
